Safety tips for your children

It’s safety week. Read more on how to help your kids protect themselves

As we celebrate safety week at His Grace and Mercy School International, we would like to share a few safety tips for kids that will help keep them be security conscious.

  1. Know your name, number and address: Your child may be small but once he or she goes to school or moves around it is important to teach basic contact details like contact numbers of parents and one emergency contact which comes in handy in case of an emergency. Also, knowing where home is and any nearby landmark is of much importance. Help your child memorize these with regular practice at home.
  2. Never go anywhere with a stranger: Your child must know that no matter what the reason is, it is not safe to go anywhere with a stranger. Ensure that if there is an emergency, you will always send a family member, like grandparent or aunt, to be with your kid and not a stranger.
  3. Do not let anyone touch your body: This is a very important safety rule for children as rape is on the increase. Your child must know the difference between good touch and bad touch. Let them know that no one is allowed to touch in a certain way except mum, and sometimes dad, if needed. He or she should immediately shout for help and alert people around if taken advantage of.
  4. Do not share address or phone number with anyone except in emergency situations: It is unsafe for your child to share personal details like phone numbers, address, email ids or pictures with strangers. Any information that is shared should only be with your consent or in your presence.

Thank you for droping by our website and help your child take care of themselves.
